Needs better pay for techs and ancillary staff.
Pharmacist

Good pharmacy department. Interdisciplinary collaboration is solid. Workload is manageable most days. Pay is fair for a non-metro area. Baptist treats their employees well overall.

Been in L&D at Baptist for a long time. The new birthing suites are beautiful and patients love them. We still fight for appropriate staffing but the unit culture is strong. Wouldnt trade this team for anything.

Best L&D unit I have worked at. Team is like a family. Ratios are manageable and the docs are collaborative. Pay could be a little higher but the culture makes up for it easily.

ICU at the new campus is well designed with 12 bed pods. As a newer nurse I struggled to get adequate guidance initially. The senior nurses eventually took me under their wing but formal mentorship needs work.

Baptist ED is busy and well run. Pay is competitive for the panhandle. Management actually listens to staff concerns. The new facility is nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to work in Pensacola.
Occupational Therapist

Rehab department at the new Brent Lane campus is beautiful. Dedicated therapy spaces with modern equipment. The move to the new facility was a big improvement for both staff and patients.
CRNA

New OR complex is excellent. Good case variety and the anesthesia team is well supported. Baptist treats CRNAs with respect and the practice environment is professional. Compensation is fair for the region.

ICU techs are treated well here. The nurses teach you and include you in patient care discussions. Best learning environment for a CNA who wants to become a nurse. Pay is the only downside.
