Physician / Resident

FM residency has excellent continuity clinic and the preceptors are invested in your growth. Patient panel diversity is great for training. Community connections make this a standout program.
APRN / NP

GI NP position pays well but the collaborating physician is rarely available for questions. Scope creep is real and you end up managing complex IBD patients without much backup. Documentation burden is heavy.
Occupational Therapist
3mo ago
Stroke rehab program is comprehensive and OT plays a central role. Interdisciplinary collaboration is genuine and families are engaged in the process. Management supports conference attendance and specialization.

ER nursing here is fast-paced and the trauma volume keeps you sharp. Triage training is thorough and the docs communicate well. Pay recently got bumped but still lags behind the bigger city ERs slightly.
Medical Assistant

Ortho clinic has high patient volume and the surgeons move fast. You will cast, remove staples, and assist with injections daily. Good hands-on experience but the pace can be overwhelming for newer MAs.
Pharmacist

Clinical pharmacy program is robust with rounding pharmacists on every major unit. We have real impact on antibiotic stewardship and dosing protocols. Compensation is competitive and the PTO is generous.

Travel assignment here was disappointing. Floated to a different unit every shift with no consistency. Staff nurses were not welcoming and I had to figure out supply rooms and med rooms on my own every time.

Tele unit is well-organized with clear protocols for rhythm changes and rapid responses. The educators do monthly skills fairs and management is transparent about budget decisions. Solid middle ground between med-surg and ICU.
