I have been in this NICU for over a decade and it keeps getting better. Level III unit with excellent neonatologists. Pay recently got a significant bump and ratios are always appropriate.

Best OT department I have worked in across three states. The neuro rehab program is well-established and you actually get the resources you need for patient care. My manager goes to bat for the team constantly.

Imaging equipment is a mixed bag. CT scanner is brand new but the portable X-ray units are ancient. Management does not advocate for us when it comes to capital budgets. Hours are flexible at least.
EMT / Paramedic

Solid ER to bring patients to and even better to work in. The medical director is approachable and EMS has a good relationship with the nursing staff. Protocols are up to date.

New grad residency here was a mess. My preceptor changed three times in eight weeks and nobody seemed to have a plan for my orientation. I felt unsafe and unsupported. Would not recommend for new grads.

Great lab to work in. We have updated analyzers, the micro section runs smoothly, and management actually cross-trains you on multiple benches. Work-life balance is the best I have experienced in a hospital lab.

Tele unit has decent teamwork but staffing took a nosedive after COVID. They keep promising to hire more staff but it has been six months of the same short-staffing. Pay is average for Pensacola.
Physical Therapist

Wonderful rehab department with a strong focus on evidence-based practice. Caseload is manageable and you actually have time to do proper evaluations. Benefits are above average for the region.
